Buka Puasa at the Bangi Golf Resort Ramadhan Buffet 2017

It's that time of the year again!
Ramadhan is right around the corner and as usual, Ramadhan buffets are popping up left and right like mushrooms!

Okay, to be honest, I probably should have written this a lot sooner (it's already May) but I'm going to post this in April and pretend I did it on time like a good little blogger. 😅

This is my second time previewing the Bangi Golf Resort's (BGR) Ramadhan buffet. I attended last year as well but back then I was still a baby blogger. Still new to the community and still not used to attending events and socializing. Not that I socialized a lot this year either but that's besides the point.

I was there to eat. 😝

This Ramadhan you can expect up to 200 different dishes to satiate your stomachs after a long day of fasting this Ramadhan month. In fact, you can find many popular Malay, Oriental, and Western Cuisine.

Featured Dishes

Some of the featured dishes this year are the Slow-roasted Lamb and Indian Style Mutton Stew. You can watch them carve the lamb up while it's displayed on the spit and scoop up a bowl of their delicious and warm Indian tyle Mutton Stew. The mutton stew was so flavourful and the lamb was just as good.

Western Cuisine

Western cuisine is ma jaaaam~ And just like last year, BGR gave us a taste of their popular Sous Vide Eggs with Mushroom Espuma! The eggs with the soft centre and peppery mushroom sauce was personally my favourite thing from the buffet. I could eat plates of it. It was so good that I competely forgot to take pictures. Yeah, that good.

Other Western dishes you can enjoy are the Chicken Lasagna, Golden Sand Spaghetti Carbonara, and their brand new Peri-Peri Chicken Drumlets.

Malay Cuisine

Other Malay cuisine you can expect are Rendang Daging Taik Minyak,  Sambal Sotong Kembang, and Ayam Bercili Masak Ketumbar
• Nasi Lemak Istimewa (Special Nasi Lemak) •
• Telur Rebus Goreng Masak Sambal Tomato •
•  Ikan Masak Asam Kari •

Oriental Cuisine

While I'd like to mention more about their oriental menu, there wasn't much info provided on the dishes provided. However, they did have stir fried vegetables and Hainanese Chicken Rice.

Desserts

The hero of the desserts is definitely the churros! They fry them fresh and you can drown them in sugar or chocolate sauce while they're still hot. Again, I was too busy eating to snap pictures. But trust me, they're to die for.

Apart from the churros, you can also find Italian Tiramisu, an assortment of Malay kuih, and delicious cakes at the dessert table. Another thing I recommend are the cheesecakes.

•  An Assortment of Jellies & Puddings •

Special Sections

This year BGR set up special sections such as the "Durian Runtuh" section which features durians that were harvested from Raub, Pahang.

I do recommend you grab your durians first because people will crowd these sections after dinner for a little snack and standing in line for little bits of durian isn't fun. Trust me. If you see them open, go for it. Don't wait.

Another special section would be the booth set up by Sweet Scoopz. They're a company that's well-known for their assorted flavours such as Asam Boi and Musang King.

If you're wondering about entertainment, you can expect live music performances from 6.30pm to 9.30pm daily to help you pass the time and enjoy the food.

Prices

Adult: RM58+
Children: RM28+

I was very excited to learn that they had Chinese and Western food being served as I rarely ever eat Malay food. It's not that Malay food is bad or anything, I just can't handle anything doused in chilli.
